Rush to Team up with Habitat for Humanity this Saturday, August 20th at Dublin's from 6-9

(Rapid City, SD) - The Rapid City Rush, along with Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity (BHAHFH), have announced a joint fundraiser set for set for Saturday, August 20th. The event will take place at Dublin's Square from 6-9PM and will be a family-friendly gathering that is open to fans of all ages. Rush defenseman Riley Weselowski and broadcaster Daniel Nieves will be hosting the occasion that will feature a live auction, live music, and the announcement of two player signings.

"Riley and Daniel represent the creativity, compassion, and commitment that help address some of the most challenging issues in our community," stated Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Scott Engmann. "With volunteer team members like Daniel and Riley, we are able to assist many more families to find the adequate living conditions they need. The BHAHFH is thrilled to partner with the champion Rapid City Rush to help more families find home."

The pair will take part in the Crazy Horse Marathon's on October 2nd with Nieves running the half-marathon and Weselowski running his second full marathon. Last year, Weselowski ran the Kroll's Diner Marathon in order to raise money for the Ryan Christian Love Fund.

"I feel honored to team up with Black Hills Habitat," said Weselowski. "I'm really excited for Saturday and can't wait to see all of our great fans come out to help a good cause. Scott and the entire staff at BHAHFH have been a great help in organizing Saturday's event. Daniel and I have known for a while that we would be running Crazy Horse, but I mentioned that I would like to help Habitat reach their goal of $3,000 and Daniel was 100% behind it."

Between 6-7pm, the Rush will formally announce the latest two singings for 2011-12 season. With every $25 donation to BHAHFH, fans will be entered into a drawing to be one of two people to officially announce the signings in front of the media.

The night will also feature live entertainment, including Weselowski and his brothers Taylor and singer/songwriter Mason Weselowski.

There will be a cover charge of $10 for adults only, with 100% of the money going directly to BHAHFH.

BHAHFH is a nonprofit Christian organization dedicated to eliminating poverty housing. Habitat for Humanity brings together people with resources and people in need to build simple, decent, affordable houses. BHAHFH homes are SOLD at an affordable level, to qualifying families who contribute up to 250 hours of sweat equity per adult. BHAHFH has built 68 homes in the Black Hills Area since 1990, and completed 6 new homes in 2011. BHAHFH's ReStore Outlet is open to the public at 610 E. Omaha, Tuesday through Saturday. Over the past five years, Black Hills Habitat has spent an average of over $180,000 a year with local suppliers of building materials. In 2010, volunteers worked over 15,000 hours for a total value of $157,000. The total value of Habitat homes is over $7 million.
