Rush Protect Perfect Start over Two-Game Weekend

April 2, 2014 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Edmonton Rush News Release

The Edmonton Rush will look to extend their National Lacrosse League record-setting winning streak when they host the Colorado Mammoth on Saturday night 8:00 pm on Crystal Glass Field at Rexall Place.

With victories last weekend in Rochester and Toronto, the Rush set a new NLL record for longest regular-season winning streak which now stands at 13 games, eclipsing the previous mark of 12 set in 2007 by Rochester. The Rush, who have already clinched the club's first home playoff date in franchise history, also extended their road winning streak to 13 games dating back to last season.

Last Saturday night, the Rush invaded the home of the Rochester Knighthawks and took down the two-time defending Champion's Cup winners by a 15-11 score. Curtis Knight, Jeff Cornwall, Jarrett Davis, Mark Matthews, and Zack Greer all scored twice against the Knighthawks with Brett Mydske, Robert Church, Chris Corbeil, John Lafontaine, and Cory Conway all adding singles.

Less than 24 hours later, the Rush were back in Canada and proceeded to win their second consecutive game on the Toronto Rock's home turf as they went 4-for-6 on the power play and added two shorthanded goals in a 13-10 victory. Zack Greer fired home a hat trick for Edmonton, while Robert Church added two power-play goals, and Chris Corbeil scored twice including his fifth shorthanded goal of the year. Jarrett Davis, Ryan Dilks, Mark Matthews, Jeremy Thompson, Nik Bilic, and Cory Conway supplied the rest of the Rush scoring.
