Rush Players to Join Jim McMahon

July 26, 2002 – Chicago Rush quarterback Billy Dicken and lineman Marcus McKenzie will help to raise money for the Walter Payton Scholarship Fund by serving as celebrity bartenders at McMahon's Arena Restaurant and Steakhouse, Tuesday, July 30, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The inaugural Celebrity Bartender Bash and Karaoke Night at Jim McMahon's new restaurant, located at 3315 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Glenview, will look to raise money to help provide scholarships for economically disadvantaged students.

Joining the Rush players will be host Jim McMahon, Eddie Payton, several of McMahon's former Bears teammates and local Chicagoland media personalities.

Fans wishing to get up on stage and perform a karaoke song will be asked to make a $5 donation to the Walter Payton Scholarship Fund. All money generated from the karaoke as well as tips to the celebrity bartenders will go to the fund. In addition, raffle tickets will be sold at the restaurant, with prizes including autographed sports memorabilia and gift certificates.

The 2002 Central Division champion Chicago Rush finished the season with a 9-5 record and a bye in the first-round of the AFL playoffs. The Rush will host an AFL quarterfinal playoff game Monday, August 5, at Allstate Arena. Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
