Rush 14-9 over Swarm, for 7th WIN of the Season

St.Paul, MN---The Edmonton Rush (7-0) became just the third team in league history to open a season with seven-straight wins with a 14-9 road victory over the Minnesota Swarm (1-6) in front of a crowd of 7,195 at Xcel Energy Center on Saturday evening. The Rush opened the game with three unanswered goals and never looked back.

The only other teams that have started a season 7-0 are the 1993 and 1996 Buffalo Bandits. Both teams went on to win the championship in those respective years.

Posing the biggest offensive threat from the Rush was Jeremy Thompson (3-1). Mark Matthews (2-3), Zack Greer (2-1) and Riley Loewen (2-0) each recorded two goals for the night. Goalie Aaron Bold was solid in goal for Edmonton with 37 saves on 46 shots.

The Swarm performed offensively with Jordan MacIntosh (3-2) producing three goals. Callum Crawford (2-6) was able to score his 175th career goal in the 4th quarter. Rookie Logan Schuss (2-1) made his own two-goal contribution. Tyler Carlson and Zach Higgins split time between the pipes.

The Rush outshot the Swarm by just one, with a total of 47 shots for Edmonton and 46 for Minnesota. The Swarm produced on four of their six power plays while Edmonton didn't connect on any of their six.
