Ruff Riders invite 35 players to Training Camp

KATY, TX - The Katy Ruff Riders announced today that they have invited 35 players to Katy for training camp, which will open on Tuesday, April 3. The first week of training camp will be held on the football playing fields at Katy Junior High School (5350 Franz Road) from 5:30-7:30 each day, as the Ruff Riders prepare to kick off the 2007 IFL season on Saturday April 14 with a 4:00 pm game vs. Corpus Christi at the Merrell Center.
Most notably, Ruff Riders Head Coach Donald Hollas has invited veteran indoor football quarterback Albert Higgs to camp to compete for the starting quarterback job against former University of Hawaii QB Se'e Poumele, who was the backup to record-breaking slinger Timmy Chang for the Rainbows. Other quarterbacks in camp include League City's Brock Bailey, and Freeport's Toric Goins. In all, 20 of the 35 players are from the Houston area.
The players will report to Katy on Monday, April 2 and spend the day being passed through medical evaluations and other team processes before starting workouts on Tuesday. Below is the complete Katy Ruff Riders 2007 Training Camp roster, as of today's date. The final roster will be cut to 23 players.
