SANDY, Utah (Saturday, July 2, 2011) - Coming off wins in the last week against Toronto FC and the Wilmington Hammerheads in MLS and U.S. Open Cup action respectively, Real Salt Lake (7-3-5, 26 pts.; 4th in West) will look to make it three victories on the trot this Monday, July 4, when the New England Revolution (3-8-6, 15 pts.; 9th in East) come to Sandy for RSL's annual Independence Day Celebration contest.
This year's holiday match, presented by Sports Med Utah, kicks off at 6:30 p.m. MT and will be followed by the much-anticipated #9 jersey retirement ceremony in honor of current head coach Jason Kreis in addition to an in-stadium fireworks display, featuring musical accompaniment by the American West Symphony. The first 10,000 fans through the Rio Tinto Stadium gates upon opening at 5:30 p.m. will also receive a free commemorative RSL/Jason Kreis #9 poster, courtesy of Sports Med Utah.
