Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL are proud to congratulate the organization's NHL affiliate, Boston Bruins, on capturing the 2011 Stanley Cup in Game Seven in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Wednesday night. It marked the first time in the ten year history of the Royals that an NHL affiliate of the team has won the Cup. Rich Peverley, who played for the Royals in the 2005-06 season (4g-11a15pts in 11 games), became the third former Royal to hoist hockey's most coveted trophy last night, joining George Parros (with the Anaheim Ducks in 2007) and former Head Coach Derek Clancey, who was a member of the 2009 Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins. Peverley became the first former Royal ever to score a goal in the Stanley Cup Finals when he bagged a pair of goals in the Bruins' 4-0 win in Game Four of the Finals.

Season Tickets for the 2011-12 Reading Royals ECHL season are currently available. Call 610-898-7825 for more information or log onto www.royalshockey.com .
