OKLAHOMA CITY - A pitchers' duel turned into a lopsided shutout as Oklahoma City used a two-run seventh and a four-run eighth to pull away from the Round Rock Express 6-0 Tuesday night at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. The Express (2-4) suffered their second shutout in the season's first six games.

Andy Jenkins singled with two outs in the seventh, and Herman Iribarren followed with an inside-the-park home run to snap the scoreless tie. The RedHawks (3-3) tacked on four runs on three hits in the eighth. Craig Gentry led off the inning with a solo homer to left. Mitch Moreland later added a sacrifice fly, and Jenkins capped the frame with a two-run double.

Oklahoma City starter Derek Holland (1-0) earned the victory, scattering four hits and a walk with three strikeouts over 7.2 innings. At one point, Holland retired 16 consecutive Round Rock batters. Pedro Strop retired the game's final four batters in order with one strikeout for his second save of the season.

Express starter Josh Banks (0-1) was saddled with the loss, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks with two strikeouts over 6.2 innings. Banks cruised through the first six innings, sitting down 10 RedHawks consecutively at one point. Evan Englebrook was touched for four runs, only one of which was earned, on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts over the game's final 1.1 innings.

Jason Bourgeois had half of Round Rock's four hits on the night, going 2-for-4. Chris Shelton singled to lead off the second inning, extending his team-best hitting streak to six games; he has hit safely in eight consecutive games, dating back to last season. Edwin Maysonet had the only other Round Rock hit on the night, a two-out single in the third.

Jenkins and Gentry each were 2-for-4 for the RedHawks.

Round Rock and Oklahoma City continue the series Wednesday with an 11:05 a.m. CDT first pitch. The Express send southpaw Gustavo Chacin (0-1, 3.00 ERA) to the mound, while the RedHawks counter with right-hander Brandon McCarthy (0-0, 1.29 ERA).
