LH Derek Holland vs. RH Josh Banks

TONIGHT: The Oklahoma City RedHawks look to snap their first two-game losing streak of the season as they take on the Round Rock Express (Houston Astros) in the second of a four-game set at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. The RedHawks used Mitch Moreland's two-run homer in the ninth inning last night to tie the score 5-5 and force extra innings, but the Express scored a two-out run in the 10th to win 6-5. Opening-night starter Derek Holland will get the start against the Express. Holland did not factor in the decision April 8 while pitching 6 innings, allowing 1 run. Righthander Josh Banks gets the ball for Round Rock. The RedHawks are tied for third in the American South Division with the Express, 1 game back of the Albuquerque/New Orleans division lead.

HIT HAPPY: The RedHawks amassed 15 hits last night in a 6-5 defeat, going 5-for-19 with runners in scoring position. OKC left the bases loaded in the first and sixth innings and stranded 13 total. For the season, the RedHawks lead the PCL with a .310 team batting average, .407 team on-base percentage and .495 slugging percentage. The RedHawks are tied for the league lead in doubles (11) and triples (4).

DIMINISHING RETURNS: As a team, OKC is batting .326 with runners on base, but .246 with runners in scoring position, .214 with runners in scoring position and 2 out and .167 (1-for-6) with the bases loaded.

TRACKING TRACY: Chad Tracy is part of a large group tied for second in the PCL with 2 home runs. Tracy had a 2-homer game on Saturday against Albuquerque's Tim Corcoran. The PCL home run leader is Nashville's Brendan Katin with 3.

STREAKS: Esteban German and Chad Tracy have hit safely in each of the first five games. Matt Brown and Andy Jenkins have season-long, five-game on-base streaks.

ONCE THROUGH THE ROTATION: OKC has completed one turn through the season-opening rotation. The first two starts, turned in by Derek Holland and Brandon McCarthy, produced quality starts. Holland and McCarthy combined to pitch 13 innings, allowing 2 runs on a collective 11 hits. In three starts since, by Michael Kirkman, Guillermo Moscoso and Michael Ballard, the starters combined to work 12.1 innings, yielding 10 earned runs on 17 hits. A RedHawks starter has yet to receive a decision. Four of the first five games have had a tie or lead change in the seventh inning or later.

CLOSE CALLS: The RedHawks are the only team in the PCL to have played three 1-run games, going 2-1 in those contests. They are also the only PCL club to have played two extra-inning games, dropping opening night's 13-inning contest and last night's game in 10 innings.

EARLY LEAD NO HELP: Through five OKC games, the team that scored first has lost four of the five. The only break in the pattern was Albuquerque's 9-5 win on Sunday, when it scored in the first inning, but quickly relinquished the lead by allowing 2 runs in the bottom of the first.

DOUBLE TROUBLE: OKC hit into one double play last night, bringing its total to 10 on the season. The RedHawks have turned 3 in the field.

ON THE AIR: RedHawks broadcasts return to flagship KTOK AM 1000 and RedHawks Radio Network affiliates in 2010. KTOK will air all games starting at 6 pm CDT or later (except for May 3, 4, 6 and 7). Those four games, and all action starting prior to 6 pm CDT, will air on 1340 AM Fox Sports.
