West Virginia Roughriders celebrate the American Arena League title

Wheeling, West VA - Press Release - The West VA Roughriders defeated the Carolina Energy 55- 29 to win the 2019 American Arena League Championship.
American Arena League CEO, Tony Zefiretto presented the Roughriders with their second league championship trophy in three years. West Virginia trailed early, however, they took the lead just prior to half time.
The Roughriders defense shut down the Energy on the last series before time ran out in the first half. They maintained their tenacity by quickly shutting down the Energy's offense on the first possession of the second half. The Roughriders defense went on to dominate the second half in front of their home town fans who packed the WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia.
