Copper City Chiefs owner Wayne Premo along with Head Coach and Director of Player Development Mike Beavis have invited 38 players to their main training camp in October. The Chiefs were scheduled to hold a Pro Placement Camp this weekend. "With the number of quality players we had coming in we thought it would be in everyone's best interest to just go with that number into camp to defray costs to the players that are already signed with us as well as those under camp contracts with our organization." Stated Beavis. Players that had paid their try out fee will be refunded as well as sent camp contracts to secure their spot with the team come time for camp. Beavis also stated, " We are very excited about the team we have put together, and I feel that with the late start and people wondering if Rome was ok or not, will all be put to rest come opening night." The Chiefs have a group of highly talented players that have come to them from the MAHL looking to play for Rome this season The team has also networked with a very impressive group of IHL, ECHL and AHL teams as well as had some contact with NHL scouts and coaches pertaining to their organization.

The Chiefs are speaking with a small group of possible investors interested in getting involved with the team this season.

Finally Coach Beavis Adds, " I just can't wait for the season to begin so that the fans of this league will see how much hard work has gone into the five teams and finally get to enjoy the quality and excitement the EPHL Hockey will have to offer."
