
Rome Braves Announce 1st Annual Wiffle Ball Showcase

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves front office staff took to the streets Thursday October 29th to offer "one day contracts" to members of the Northwest Georgia Community to play in the first annual Sliding into Christmas Wiffle Ball Showcase. The event will be held at the Miracle Field of Rome on Saturday November 14th. Four local celebrity teams will compete against each other with each team managed by a current or former Atlanta and Rome Braves personnel including Rome skipper Randy Ingle and former Rome manager Rocket Wheeler. Local participating celebrities will pay a $100 signing bonus to join a team. There will be live music, BBQ, drinks, and a player's hospitality lounge.
Proceeds from the event will benefit kids for Christmas providing presents for needy children during the holiday season. The Rome Braves will work with the local school systems to identify families in need plus the winning team will donate to the charity of their choice.
What: First Annual Sliding into Christmas Wiffle Ball Showcase
When: Saturday November 14th
Where: Braves Miracle Field of Rome
Time: Gates open at 11a.m. with games beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Admission: Free (Parking $5)
Scheduled to appear: Henry the Hot Dog, Brian Snitker, Randy Ingle, Rocket Wheeler, Bobby Moore, Jonathan Schuerholz, Brian Bridges, Mustard, Dustin Evans, Jordan Edgerton, and more to come. The front office staff will visit other participants in the days to come.
