The season may have not begun yet, but the chants have already started in Fort Wayne as the Freedom announced today the re-signing of running back Rocky Harvey. Entering his third year with the Freedom, he is coming off an exceptional 2004 season. A fan favorite among the Freedom faithful, he is considered an offensive threat each time he takes the field.
Harvey led all teams in scoring with 42 touchdowns of which 35 were rushing during the regular season. Rocky averaged over 3.8 yards a carry and 59.6 yards/game last season racking up 834 total yards. During the playoffs, he averaged 3.6 yards a carry, 74 yards/games and 7 touchdowns.
In his career, Harvey has accumulated over 1,600 rushing yards and 30 consecutive starts. In 2004, Rocky set new team records for the most rushing yards in a game with 124 along with 26 rushing attempts and 26 rushing touchdowns. He was named by the team as the 2004 Offensive and Team MVP.
