
Rockstars sign second player

Chicago, IL. The ABA Chicago Rockstars announced today the signing of their second player to an official contract. Sherick Simpson, a 6-6 200 guard is a seasoned veteran in the professional basketball world. Simpson led the Elgin Racers of the IBL this year in scoring (21 ppg), rebounding (10.9 rpg) and steals (2.5 rpg). He was a 2005 All Star selection and in 2005 he led Amsterdam to the Holland Championship.
Simpson is a native of Elgin, IL graduating from Larkin High School in 1993. He averaged 23.5 pts, 9rbs, 2 stls per game for the Royals. Simpson was an All Area, All State honorable mention and upstate 8 player of the year his senior year.
He went on to Elgin Community College averaging 25.6 pts, 11rbs, 2 stls per game. There he gained All Conference and JUCO All-American honors. Simpson transferred to Fort Hays State University in Kansas and helped the Tigers post a 63-2 record in two years. Simpson led the Tigers to a national title and was named championship game MVP.
