Rockford IceHogs News Release

Glens Falls, NY- The United Hockey League held their annual All-Star Classic on Monday Night at the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, New York, and the Rockford IceHogs were well represented with six participants. Hogs center J.C. Ruid earned Team Mountain Dew MVP honors with two goals and a shootout goal, helping Team Mountain Dew top Team Pepsi 7-6 in a shootout.

Ruid wasn't the only IceHogs skater contributing Monday, as forwards Olivier Proulx (2g-1a-3pts) and J.F. Dufour (3a) helped provide some offense for Team Mountain Dew. Dufour also added a shootout goal.

The IceHogs ended up with five of the six starting players for Team Mountain Dew after an injury sidelined Fort Wayne Komets center Colin Chaulk who was slated to start. Proulx was added as Chaulk's replacement and started along side fellow wingers Ruid and Dufour. Defenseman Nathan Lutz and goaltender Michel Robinson also started for Team Mountain Dew. Rookie defenseman Steve Pelletier rounded out Rockford's representatives.

Robinson played the game's first 30 minutes allowing four goals before being replaced by the Missouri River Otters goalie Jason Tapp mid-way through the second period. Flint Generals rookie forward Mike Kinnie notched two goals for Team Pepsi to earn Team Pepsi MVP honors and Adirondack Frostbite center Hugo Belanger was voted MVP by the Frostbite Booster club. Adirondack was the host team.

Next Home Games: The IceHogs return home after a seven-game road swing to host a pair of games beginning Friday, January 28 when the Flint Generals come to town. Game time is 7:05 p.m. and it's the Hogs Fourth Annual NASCAR Night. Fans can check out the Jeff Gordon Chevrolet!
