Reading Rockets News Release
Reading, PA - August 14, 2012 - The Reading Rockets are looking to raise funds and awareness for several local charities as they take the field this fall, releasing a promotional schedule that benefits children, veterans and other groups throughout the area.

The Rockets will wear special jerseys that will be auctioned off to benefit the St. Joseph's Cancer Center and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Also, $2 from every ticket purchased will be added to the donation.
In addition, the Rockets will be working with The Opportunity House on Halloween Two Night with The Opportunity House on Thursday, November 1st. Jerseys from the game will be auctioned to benefit The Opportunity House and all of its programs. Other themes include Military Appreciation/Veterans Celebration Night on November 9th, Autism Awareness Night on November 15th, Fill the Food Bank Night on November 17th and Teddy Bear Toss for Toys for Tots on November 29th.
"Our plan is to benefit as much of the local community through our ability to do good works as possible," said Rockets Vice President and General Manager Andy Makal. "Helping organizations like Friends of Jaclyn, Wounded Warrior Project, Autism Speaks, Toys for Tots, as well as local organizations like the Greater Berks Food Bank, the VA Hospital, St. Joseph's Cancer Center and local children's charities are our way of giving back to a community well known for supporting its sports teams. We want to do our part."
