November 28, 2012 - Professional Lacrosse League (PLL-1)
Reading Rockets News Release

Reading, PA - November 28, 2012 - The Reading Rockets are pleased to announce that nine of their players will continue their indoor lacrosse seasons and head to camps in the National Lacrosse League, the premier league in indoor lacrosse.

The group includes three of the four netminders who have seen action for Reading this season. Scotty Komer, who began the season as the Rockets starter before being sidelined with a concussion, joins fellow netminder Chris Collins in Philadelphia. Collins served as the primary backup to Findley Wilson, and registered the Rockets first win, a 23-8 shellacking of the Syracuse Stingers on November 17th. Wilson, who performed admirably as the starter after Komer's injury, will shuffle off to Buffalo, catching on with the Buffalo Bandits.

Joining Komer and Chris Collins in Philadelphia are defensemen Andrew Collins, Dana Wilber, Jim Forsythe and veteran Brett Moyer. The speedy Collins has created offensive chances in transition, resulting in four assists to go along with a breakaway goal against Syracuse. Wilber and Moyer have been solid defensively, and Forsythe has brought toughness to the Reading roster.

"We couldn't be more proud of our guys," said Head Coach Tom Slate. "These guys have worked hard all season for us and to be rewarded with this kind of recognition is a tribute to them and the organization."

Rochester native Josh Kacprzak will be in camp with his hometown Knighthawks, after a stellar season in Can-Am and consistent tough play for the Rockets. The 6' 2" 220 pounder has been a penalty minute leader for Reading, pounding opposing players each game. Lefty forward Jesse Guerin was among the last players signed this season, but made an immediate impact. The Peterborough native netted four goals in his debut and adding an eight point night two games later. Guerin heads to camp with the Minnesota Swarm as the Rockets' leading goal scorer.

The Rockets close out their season this Saturday against their rivals, the Charlotte Copperheads. It's Fan Appreciation Night and fans can get Buy One, Get One tickets at the Sovereign Center Box Office courtesy of WFMZ and Lacrosse Evolution. In addition, the Rockets will be collecting toys for Toys for Tots. Any fan who brings a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots will receive a voucher for $2 off their ticket. Fans are also encouraged to bring a stuffed animal for the First Annual Teddy Bear Toss and toss it onto the field after the Rockets score their first goal. The team is also raising awareness for The Opportunity House in Reading.
