GETTING BACK TO OUR WAYS: The Rochester Red Wings were blanked Saturday night for the fourth time this season, dropping game five of the series to Scranton, 3-0...LHP Carson Teel made his first start in a Red Wings uniform, logging four innings of one-run ball, surrendering just two hits in the process while striking out seven...the Wings' offense was held to five hits, scattered across five different batters, marking just the fifth time all year that Rochester went without a multi-hit performance in their lineup...catcher Taylor Gushue picked up the lone extra-base hit in the loss, going 1-for-2 with a walk and a double...RHP Sterling Sharp gets the ball for the Wings who will look to split the series with a win on Sunday and will be opposed by RHP Hayden Wesneski who is set to make his fourth start against the Rochester squad this year.

CARSON DEAL: LHP Carson Teel went four innings in his first career start at the Triple-A level...the lefty gave up just one earned run on two hits while striking out seven...this punchout total matches his career high (2x w/ Single-A POT & Double-A HBG)...prior to yesterday, Teel's only start this year came with Double-A Harrisburg...in 12 appearances with the Red Wings this season, the lefty has a 4.62 ERA, logging 25.1 innings and allowing 13 earned runs...Teel has now given up one or fewer runs in nine of his 12 outings...he has 29 strikeouts in 25.1 innings of work, good for a 10.4 K/9.

SCRANTON'S FATHER: Today, outfielder Andrew Stevenson will face RailRiders starter RHP Hayden Wesneski...he is 4-for-8 with an XBH and an RBI in his career versus the Scranton starter...yesterday, Stevenson went 1-for-3 with a walk and extended his hit-streak to five games...Stevenson is 8-for-19 (.421) during the Scranton series with two doubles...his recent hot-streak has moved him into the International League lead in doubles (20) and fourth in hits (70).

WATCH THE THRONE: The Red Wings have followed up an eight-game losing streak by going 2-1 in their last three games...prior to yesterday's contest, the Red Wings spent 41 days (5/5, 5/7 - 6/15, 6/18) atop the International-League-East this season...Rochester's loss coinciding with Buffalo's win now drops the Wings back a half-game.

WORK HORSES IN THE STABLE: Last night, the Red Wings staff combined for 13 strikeouts, tying the third-most in any game this season...it is the first time the Red Wings had reached 13 or more strikeouts since May 20 (25 games)...LHP Carson Teel tied his career-high with seven strikeouts (2x w/ Single-A POT & Double-A HBG)...RHP Matt Brill, LHP Luis Avilan, and LHP Alberto Baldonado all contributed with two strikeouts a piece.

TAYLOR MADE: Catcher Taylor Gushue logged Rochester's only extra-base knock in their shutout loss, poking a double in the top of the 2nd...the switch-hitter's XBH was his first since launching a homer on 6/5 versus Buffalo...Gushue's two-bagger moves Rochester to tied fourth in the International League-East in doubles (117).

WE'RE SO EXTRA: With catcher Taylor Gushue's double, Red Wings batters have now recorded an extra-base hit in 63 of their 65 games played...Rochester hitters have collected at least one extra-base hit in 12 straight games...during that stretch, they have 40 knocks that have gone for extra bases, including 17 home runs...this 12-game streak comes after the Red Wings recorded an extra-base knock in the first 51 games of the season...The Wings are tied for fourth in doubles (117), second in triples (16), and 13th in home runs (66).

FLOWER CITY SHOUTOUT: Red Wings' pitchers have accumulated 585 strikeouts this season, the same number as the Rochester area code...the Wings' mark ranks eighth in the International League, 80 off league-leading Gwinnett (ATL).

STARRING STERLING: Today, RHP Sterling Sharp will get the start as Rochester looks to split the series with Scranton...Sharp will attempt to mirror his Tuesday performance where he went five innings while allowing just one earned run on four strikeouts...the righty has allowed two runs or fewer in seven of his ten appearances this season...Sharp has 27 strikeouts over 33.1 innings pitched this season, good for 7.3 K/9
