(Rochester, NY)... United Soccer Leagues (USL) announced today the 2005 USL First Division College Player Draft will be held the afternoon of Tuesday, January 18th via conference call. The Rochester Raging Rhinos will have the ninth overall pick in the upcoming draft.

"We've moved the draft back from mid-December to mid-January to increase the likelihood that players drafted by the USL First Division teams are signed by those teams," commented Steven Thompson, Director of Professional League Operations.

The draft will follow the same format as 2004. Each of the 12 USL First Division teams will have one pick in each of two rounds. The order is the reverse of the 2004 final regular season standings. The Rhinos finished in fourth place in the Northeast Division with a 15-10-3 record (48 points). The playoff berth was the ninth straight for the Rhinos in the team's nine-year history.

In the 2004 Draft, the Rhinos selected Perek Bellah from the University of Rhode Island in the first round (10th overall) and Matthew Delicate from Virginia Commonwealth in the second round (26th overall).
