Nashua Silver Knights News Release
Nashua, NH - The Nashua Silver Knights are excited to announce that Cody Rocha has been named Nashua Silver Knights Player of the Year.
Rocha will be presented with the award at the Lowell Spinners Hot Stove Dinner to benefit Lowell Spinners Charities on Saturday, January 11th at the UMass-Lowell Inn and Conference Center. Doors open at 5 p.m.
"For the past two years Cody has been a tremendous weapon for us out of the bullpen," said Nashua Silver Knights Manager J.P. Pyne. "He gave us the ability to shorten the game and for the entire bullpen to fall into place."
"Not only was Cody a dominant closer in the league, but he was also a great teammate, a team leader and went out of his way to connect with the fans in Nashua," said Pyne. "Without question, replacing Cody will be one of our biggest challenges in putting together the 2014 club. He has set a standard for the closer role league wide that will be tough to live up to."
Joining Rocha on January 11th is Boston Red Sox 2004 World Series Champion Dave Roberts, current Boston Red Sox World Series Champion and First Base Coach Arnie Beyeler, former Red Sox announcer Jerry Trupiano and former Red Sox top prospect Ryan Westmoreland.
Tickets are $75 each. Tables of ten are available for $750, which includes table sign, recognition at the dinner and opportunity to hang a banner. Please call 978-459-1702 to purchase or tickets or e-mail Jon Goode at jgoode@lowellspinners.com.
The Silver Knights are the 2011 and 2012 Champions of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League of New England. For more information about the team and league please contact Jon Goode at jgoode@nashuasilverknights.com.
