New Mexico Scorpions News Release

[RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-Two Scorpions have been invited to American Hockey League (AHL) camps this week. Goaltender Andrew Martin will skate with the San Antonio Rampage while forward Chris Robertson has been invited to Manitoba's camp.

The Rampage are the top affiliate for the Phoenix Coyotes. Martin will be on the ice starting Monday afternoon competing for spot on the San Antonio roster. If Martin doesn't make the roster for the Rampage he will be returned to the Scorpions.

The Plano, Tex. native finished the 2007-08 campaign with a 19-12-2 record and a 3.12 goals against average. Both his win total and 34 games played set new career highs. With his spectacular start to the 2006-07 season, Martin was named to the CHL Southern Conference All-Star team and shined in the third period. The 6'1" backstop shut down the Northern Conference with 22 saves on 23 shots, getting credit for the win.

Robertson will be skating with the Vancouver Canucks top affiliate in Manitoba. The Moose will bring five centers into training camp, including the Scorpions assistant captain.

Last season Robertson played in 59 games setting a career high with 78 points (34G, 44A) and led his team with a +22 plus/minus rating. The Owen Sound, Ontario native also left his mark on the organization's record books. In just two seasons wearing a Scorpions' jersey, he is 11th with 136 points and ninth in goals with 53. Some of his best work is done on face-offs as he was honored in the CHL's annual "Best of the Best Poll" as the second best draw man in the league.
