
Rob Green Returns to the Manchester Wolves

MANCHESTER, NH-- Rob Green, who spent last season as an assistant coach with the Arkansas Twisters and was a player on the Manchester Wolves 2006 team which made the playoffs, will return to the Wolves and be in uniform for Head Coach Danton Barto in 2009.
Green (6-1, 200) brings a unique combination of experience, veteran leadership, and coaching talent to the roster.
He spent the 2008 season as an assistant to Twisters Head Coach Chris Siegfried and was respo nsible for coaching the de fensive backs and secondary. Green, who played his college football at UMass, joined the coaching ranks after a knee injury suffered in the first game ended his season with the Mahoning Valley Thunder in 2007. In 2006, Green enjoyed a successful year on the field for the Wolves.
Before joining the Wolves, Green Had a strong campaign for the Louisville Fire in 2005 during which the third-year af2 defensive specialist from UMass led the team with 62.5 total tackles and 20 pass deflections. He also ranked second on the squad in interceptions (3) and fumble recoveries (3).
Green earned ADT Defensive Player of the Game honors twice during the 2005 regular season, while also racking up one US Army Ironman Award. Green was instrumental in the Fire's second-round playoff victory over the Wolves that year as he was awarded the ADT Defensive Player of the Game for his one interception, one pass deflection and 3.5 total tackle performance.
Green joins rookie wide receiver/defensive backs Deyon Williams, Deqwan Young, and Howard Gilmore as the Wolves early signees for the 2009 run to the ArenaCup.
The Wolves, who advanced all the way to the American Conference Title game in 2008, will open training camp in February and begin the season on M arch 27, 2009 against the East D ivision champion Pioneers at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Manchester's first home game will be on April 18th when the Pioneers invade the Verizon Wireless Arena.
