Topeka Pilots News Release
TOPEKA, Kan. - The Topeka RoadRunners announced Friday that assistant coach Vinny Bohn will be leaving the organization to pursue an NCAA opportunity at the Div. III level.
Bohn, 25, joined the RoadRunners late last season and spent time behind the bench with Head Coach Josh Kamrass during the final month of the regular season and playoffs.
"I am appreciative of the time spent with the staff here, and the opportunity that Don and Barbara Stone afforded me," said Bohn. "This is one of the best junior organizations around, and I am proud to have spent time in Topeka."
"It was a great experience for Vinny to spend time with our staff, and this opportunity for him to move on was unexpected but something he could not pass up," said Kamrass. "We are not only proud to move players up an on to the NCAA level, but coaches as well. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors."
RoadRunners GM Joe Clark said the organization will begin the search for Bohn's replacement immediately.
"This will be a great opportunity for someone," said Clark. "We do not have a timetable, but obviously the season is about to get underway. We will let the process play itself out."
The RoadRunners begin their 10th season in Topeka as a member of the NAHL next month as they host NAHL playoff champion Fairbanks at the Kansas ExpoCentre Sept. 15-16-17.
