What: The National Women's Hockey League is the first professional league to pay women to play hockey. The 2015-16 season marks the inaugural campaign for this four team organization and has been covered worldwide.
This game features several Olympic-level players including Japanese goaltending sensation Nana Fujimoto and two-time U.S. Olympians Meghan Duggan and Brianne McLaughlin.
More Details: The aforementioned Fujimoto was once again brilliant in a second straight 3-2 win over Boston. New York received scoring from Brooke Ammerman, Madison Packer and Meghan Fardelmann in the victory. Buffalo is still looking to get in the win column after a 7-6 shootout loss at home to Connecticut last weekend. The Beauts came back from a 6-1 second period deficit to earn their first point. Kelley Steadman, the league's goal scoring leader, was named NWHL Player of the Week after netting a pair in that game.
