Metropolitan Riveters News Release
The Details:
Who: The Boston Pride host the Metropolitan Riveters
Where: Warrior Ice Arena, Boston, MA
When: Saturday, March 10, 7:30 P.M.
The Rundown:
The Pride and Riveters play each other for the final time this season as both teams gear up for the Isobel Cup Playoffs. The Riveters have remained perfect against the Pride this season (4-0), outscoring their opponent 15-5 in four games. While the Riveters officially clinched first place in the playoff standings a few weeks ago, they have been in a bit of a slump recently, dropping two consecutive games to the red-hot Buffalo Beauts. Meanwhile, the Pride have picked up much-needed momentum ahead of the Playoffs, earning a hard-earned four points against the Connecticut Whale in back-to-back games.
Featured Players:
For the Riveters, forward Rebecca Russo, who is tied for the league lead in goals (9) and tied in second in points (17), has been unstoppable as of late, scoring four points in her last four games (2g, 2a). Alexa Gruschow also has had an outstanding second season with the Riveters and currently tied for the league lead in goals (9) and leads the league in points scored (22).
Captain Jillian Dempsey has been one of the Pride's most consistent players this entire season. Dempsey is currently riding a four-game point streak (2g,4a) and is number one overall on the Pride in both goals (7) and assists (7). Forward Dana Trivigno (3g,5a), has also been a key reason for the Pride's recent successes, assisting on three goals in her last two games.
