Riverhounds Meet Toronto FC Reserves

Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release

Pittsburgh - This Friday, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds welcome the Toronto FC Reserves of Major League Soccer to Station Square for ‘White-Out' night, sponsored by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. Carrying a six-game undefeated streak into the match, the Riverhounds are focused on maintaining this form against Toronto. The match is slated for a 7:00 p.m. kick off at Highmark Stadium.

In January, MLS and USL PRO officials made a formal announcement regarding a multi-year partnership between both leagues. This year, the partnership includes interleague play between the MLS Reserve teams and USL PRO franchises, along with the establishment of several exclusive team affiliations. The partnership is aimed to enhance the development of professional players in North America, strengthen the competition in both leagues, and establish a solid foundation for future collaboration.

On Friday, the Riverhounds and Toronto FC Reserves will clash at Highmark Stadium for the first leg of a two-game series. Both the Riverhounds and Toronto come into the match with unbeaten streaks on the line, raising the intensity of this historic night in professional soccer in Pittsburgh.

"In regards to the game on Friday it is tremendous to welcome the MLS to Pittsburgh," commented Head Coach Justin Evans. "But for our team, we are completely focused on the task at hand, winning and moving up the table in the USL PRO."

The Riverhounds enter the match with a full squad of healthy players, while Toronto will be elevating their personnel with the services of two First Team members. Forward Danny Koevermans and midfielder Terry Dunfield are claimed to be making a rehab start, due to coming off of knee injuries.
