May 15, 2002 - A-League (A-League)
Cincinnati Riverhawks News Release

Cincinnati, OH (May 15, 2002) The Cincinnati Riverhawks have two players on the USL team of the week for the first time in the club's history. Shawn Rockey made team of the week for scoring the only goal against the Portland Timbers last Saturday. Rockey has been a member of the Riverhawks since their beginning in 1997.

Chris Wanamaker became a member of team of the week for his shut-out against the Portland Timbers. Wanamaker, who also joined the team in 1997, returns to the goal after being out for two years due to a torn ACL. Both players are from Cincinnati, Rockey from St. Xavier High School and Wanamaker from Oak Hills High school, and this is the first time two players from Cincinnati have been on the team of the week.

The Riverhawks, winners of their first two games this season, return to action this Saturday, May 18th. The Hawks will be playing their next two home games, May 18th and 25th, at Landmark Christian High School due to the adverse weather conditions that has caused delayed construction at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. The Riverhawks will be playing the second place, Minnesota Thunder this Saturday and will battle it out for the lead of the conference.
