RiverHawks Re-Sign Jason Price

August 3, 2011 - SPHL (SPHL)
Augusta RiverHawks News Release

The Augusta RiverHawks Hockey Club has announced that Jason Price has re-signed for the 2011-12 season.

"Jason is a tremendous leader on and off the ice. He's a character player that can play in all situations of the game," said Brad Ralph, RiverHawks' Head Coach. "Jason will return to the RiverHawks for his second straight season, he is a big, mobile defenseman that gives us an offensive touch from the back end. We will expect another great season from him in order for us to make a run at the championship."

Price, 26, scored 11 goals and recorded 24 assists for a total of 35 points while playing all 56 games on the RiverHawks' schedule. He added five assists in the nine games the RiverHawks played in the SPHL playoffs.

The Farmington Hills, MI native spent some time at forward during the season, but was used primarily as a defenseman and was one of the premier offensive threats from the blue line in the SPHL. His 35 points had him placed second in points amongst defensemen.

Prior to joining the RiverHawks, the 6-3, 210-pound Price spent two seasons in the International Hockey League and another in the All-American Hockey League. Before that, he spent four full seasons in the SPHL split between the now defunct Richmond Renegades and the Columbus Cottonmouths. Price wore the "A" in his role as Alternate Captain for the RiverHawks all season long.

Season tickets are on sale for the 2011-12 season and are available through the RiverHawks' front office at 706-993-2645. Information on the team is available at www.augustariverhawks.com.
