
RiverHawks' Matt Auffrey Named SBK Player of the Month

CHARLOTTE, NC (March 7, 2011) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Matt Auffrey of the Augusta RiverHawks has been selected as the SBK Player of the Month for February.
Auffrey scored seven goals, added eight assists and was +10 in only 10 games played. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Auffrey recorded six multi-point games and had a point in all but two contests as the RiverHawks continued their playoff push by going 7-3 for the month. He began the month by scoring nine points (4g, 5a) in his first four games as the RiverHawks outscored their opponents 23-9.
A 6th-round selection of the Anaheim Ducks in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Auffrey currently leads the SPHL with a +20 rating, is second in assists (41) and ranks fourth in points with 59.
