Cincinnati Riverhawks News Release
Cincinnati, OH (June 3, 2002) The Cincinnati Riverhawks had a jammed packed weekend at Landmark Christian High School. On Friday night the Riverhawks hosted their rivals, the Indiana Blast. Despite the delay for bad weather and the Riverhawks dominating the game, the Riverhawks and the Blast battled it out for 90 minutes with no scoring. The game went into overtime where Gino DiGuardi of the Blast took the cross from Paul Dolinsky to score the golden goal and win the game.
On Sunday the Riverhawks took on the Vancouver Whitecaps. The Whitecaps got the first goal from a penalty kick. The score at halftime was one to zero despite the Riverhawks many opportunities to tie up the match. The Whitecaps found the back of the net again in the second half. The game finished with the Whitecaps winning two to zero.
The Riverhawks will be playing their first game on June 14th against the Seattle Sounders at 7:30 p.m. at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds.
