HUNTERSVILLE, NC (March 19, 2013) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced defenseman Drew Baker of the Augusta RiverHawks is the Easton Player of the Week for March 11-17.
Baker, who had just two goals on the season entering last week's games, scored five goals, added an assist and was +10 in helping Augusta claim five of six possible points and close to within three points of the final playoff spot.
On Thursday, the Dawsonville, Georgia native scored two goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist in leading Augusta to a 6-2 win over Huntsville, who the RiverHawks are currently chasing for the final playoff spot. Baker scored a second period goal in a 4-3 shootout loss to Pensacola on Friday before capping his week off with a pair of goals in a 9-4 win over first-place Louisiana, finishing +5 for the night.
