RiverHawks Acquire Lee from RiverKings in Trade
The Augusta RiverHawks announced Tuesday that they have acquired the rights to forward Paul Lee from the Mississippi RiverKings. In exchange, the RiverKings receive the rights to defenseman Ricky Helmbrecht.
"Paul is a big body with some skill that we feel can play an offensive role for us," said RiverHawks' Coach Mark Richards. "We could never come to terms with Ricky for him to come to Augusta, so we wanted to acquire someone who we feel can potentially help us in our efforts to make the playoffs."
Lee is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound forward who hails from Garden City, NY. The 23-year-old began the season with the RiverKings scoring a goal and an assist in his first four games. He was then loaned to the Trenton Titans of the ECHL where he appeared in five games, picking up 15 penalty minutes. He then made his way to the Greenville Road Warriors where he has picked up two assists in seven games.
Helmbrecht started the season with the Knoxville Ice Bears before having his rights traded to the RiverHawks. He was simultaneously loaned to the ECHL where he has played in five games this season. He is currently with the Fort Worth Brahamas of the Central Hockey League.
Flex Packs are still available for the current season and season tickets for next season are on-sale now. Additional information on the Team, tickets, and schedule can be found on the RiverHawks' home on the web at www.augustariverhawks.com or by calling 706-993-2645.
