March 15, 2002 - NBA G League (G League)
Columbus Riverdragons News Release
â PASSPORT GAINS ADMISSION TO ALL NBDL PLAYOFF GAMES AT COLUMBUS CIVIC CENTER â
COLUMBUS, Ga., March 15, 2002 â The Columbus Riverdragons will offer fans the 6th Man Plan â a unique playoff passport good for admission to each and every playoff game the team hosts at the Columbus Civic Center during the upcoming National Basketball Development League Playoffs, which are set to tip-off with semifinal contests the week of March 24.
The Riverdragons clinched their first playoff birth in team history late Thursday night following the Greenville Groove's dramatic 77-76 victory over the Huntsville Flight at the Von Braun Center. The Riverdragons join the first-place Groove and the N. Charleston Lowgators as teams that have clinched spots in the 2002 NBDL Playoffs. The Flight and the Mobile Revelers are currently battling for the fourth and final playoff spot.
"The D in NBDL is for development," said Riverdragons head coach Jeff Malone. "We are looking to develop a following of passionate fans who will turn the Civic Center into our house and provide their team with that 6th Man advantage. Our goal â as it has been all season â is to then reward those fans and the city of Columbus by bringing home the first NBDL championship."
The 6th Man Plan will be on sale for just $10 per ticket for adults and $5 per ticket for children. Purchase of the 6th Man Plan guarantees a fan's seat to all subsequent home playoff games held at the Columbus Civic Center â including the 2002 NBDL Finals â should the Riverdragons advance.
The 6th Man Plan will go on sale this Monday, March 18 and can be purchased by calling 888-332-5200, logging on to www.tickets.com or visiting the Columbus Civic Center box office. For questions or group ticket information call the Riverdragons ticket office at (706)-225-1112.
The NBDL's postseason will consist of two rounds â two best-of-three semifinal series and one best-of-three championship series. The no.1 and no. 2 seeds will have home court advantage in the first round and the highest seed will have the home court advantage during the NBDL Finals.
