Riverdragons To Hold 2004-05 River Rage Dance Team Tryouts August 21st at CheerZone

COLUMBUS, GA-- If you want to audition for the best professional dance team in the NBA's Development League, then don't miss this opportunity to win your spot for the 2004-05 season! The Columbus Riverdragons will hold tryouts for the River Rage, the official interactive dance team of the Riverdragons on Saturday, August 21st. Tryouts will be held at CheerZone, Inc., home of the Blazer Elite All-Star Cheerleaders. Cheer Zone is located at 5045 Milgen Court, behind the Lambert Skate Center. The non-refundable registration cost is $20.00 and anyone age 18 and over is invited to attend. Late registration and check-in begins at 11:00 a.m. and tryouts begin at 12:00 p.m..

Registration forms for the River Rage Dance Team tryouts are available by calling Janda Cearley at (706) 225-1098 and can be picked up at the CheerZone offices at 5045 Milgen Court, or at the Riverdragons offices located at 18 East 11th Street in Uptown Columbus. Registration forms can also be downloaded from the Riverdragons website, www.columbusriverdragons.com.

Participants will learn a short routine and then will be divided into groups of three to audition before a panel of judges. Each participant will be judged on dance ability, knowledge of the routine, energy and facial expressions, attitude, and overall appearance.

The River Rage is looking for individuals with previous dance or cheer training with basic dance ability, a positive attitude, poise, confidence, and dedication. The River Rage not only performs full routines and sidelines during games, but is responsible for crowd interaction, executing on-court promotions, and keeping the overall excitement throughout the game. Members will be required to attend all practices and games, make community appearances throughout the Riverdragons season, as well as keep in top physical condition.

Proper attire for auditions are as follows: black dance pants, sports bra/tank or leotard, dance shoes. Sweats and t-shirts are prohibited. All clothing should be form fitting. Full performance hair and make-up should be worn. No ponytails please.

Requirements:
• All applicants MUST be 18 years of age by November 1, 2004
• Applications, waivers, and non-refundable registration fee must be returned prior to auditioning
• All scores and comments are confidential and will not be released to applicants
• All selections are final

12:00-12:15p.m. Brief introduction and question and answer
12:15-12:30p.m. Short warm-up
12:45-1:45p.m. Learn and review routine
1:45-2:00p.m. First cuts
2:00-3:00p.m. Finalist audition before a panel of judges
5:00p.m. Posting of selected team members and announcement of first meeting
