Riverdragons to Hold 2003-04 River Rage Dance Team Tryouts Aug. 16th

COLUMBUS, GA-- If you want to try-out for the best professional Dance Team in the NBDL, then don't miss this opportunity to win your spot for the 2003-04 season! The Columbus Riverdragons will hold tryouts for the River Rage Dance Team on Saturday, August 16th at the Columbus Civic Center from 12:00-3:00 p.m.. The registration cost is $20.00 and anyone age 18 and over is invited to attend. To register for the River Rage Dance Team tryouts, call Janda Cearley at (706) 225-1098.

Participants will learn a short routine and will be divided into groups of three to audition before a panel of judges. Each participant will be judged on dance ability, knowledge of the routine, recovery from mistakes, energy and facial expressions, attitude, and overall appearance. Participants will also be given the opportunity to display any skills not covered in the routine including tumbling if desired. They may perform a routine of their own if it is under 45 seconds.

The River Rage is looking for individuals with previous dance or cheer training with basic dance ability, a positive attitude, poise, confidence, and dedication. Proper attire for auditions are as follows: black dance pants, sports bra/tank or leotard, dance shoes. Sweats and t-shirts are prohibited. All clothing should be form fitting. Full performance hair and make-up should be worn. No ponytails please.

Requirements:
· All applicants MUST be 18 years of age by November 1, 2003
· Applications and waivers must be returned prior to auditioning
· All scores and comments are confidential and will not be released to applicants

The NBDL, the NBA's minor league, includes the Fayetteville Patriots (N.C.), North Charleston Lowgators (S.C.), Huntsville Flight (Ala.), Roanoke Dazzle (Va.), Columbus Riverdragons (Ga.), and the Asheville Altitude (N.C.).

Designed to help grow the sport of basketball both domestically and internationally, the NBDL serves as a source of on-court talent for the NBA's 29 teams and as a diverse human resources pool for the NBA and its teams by training employees in management, operations, public relations, sales and marketing positions.
