New York Riptide News Release
Uniondale, NY - The New York Riptide (4-9) welcomed the Philadelphia Wings (7-8) to the Nassau Coliseum for their second straight home game Saturday night. The Riptide were on a two game win streak, but fell short to the Wings 11-5.
Jeff Teat led the team in points with three assists, and five different players scored for the Riptide. Rookie Steve Orleman was able to make 34 saves in the contest.
The first quarter started off with the Wings going on a three goal run, but due to penalty trouble the Riptide had some power-play opportunities. Tyler Digby scored his first since returning to the Riptide, and Larson Sundown earned his 12th goal of the season early on.
Callum Crawford started the scoring off in the second quarter, but the Wings continued to roll with another scoring run. Connor Kearnan added the Riptide's fourth goal of the night, to cut the deficit to 7-4 at halftime.
The Wings had the lone goal in the third quarter, putting them up by four. In the final frame, Andrew Borgatti put away his first NLL goal to get the Riptide back on the board, but the Wings went on another two goal run, securing their win 11-5.
The Riptide will head west Monday evening to face off against the Colorado Mammoth at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado at 9pm EST. The game will be available to watch on ESPN+, and listen to on WRHU 88.7 FM, WRHU.org and the WRHU iPhone App. Live stats and periodic in-game updates will be available via Twitter @NewYorkRiptide.
