Riptide Sign Third Overall Pick Callum Jones

Uniondale, NY - The New York Riptide announced today that the club has signed 2023 third overall pick Callum Jones to a two-year contract.
Jones, 25, played parts of six seasons in the Ontario Jr. A Lacrosse League (OJLL) with the Burlington Chiefs (now Blaze). In 2018, Jones was named the OJLL Outstanding Defender of the Year. The 5'10, 180lbs Burlington, Ontario native suited up for his third season of senior lacrosse with the Oakville Rock of Ontario Senior B Lacrosse this summer, where he played in 11 regular season games, scored three goals and added six assists, and went on to make a President's Cup appearance with the Rock.
"Callum is exactly what we were looking for in this years draft," said Riptide EVP & GM Rich Lisk. "He's a tough, experienced defender who we believe can step into the line-up and make an immediate impact. We're excited to see what he will do on this new look Riptide back-end."
