
Riptide Sign Steven Orleman

New York, NY - The New York Riptide announced today that they have signed goalie Steven Orelman to a two-year contract. The deal is pending league approval.
Per team policy, no terms were released.
Orelman, selected 19th overall by the Georgia Swarm in the 2018 NLL Entry Draft, spent the 2018-19 and 2019-20 NLL seasons as a member of the Swarm's practice squad.
"We are very excited to have Steve coming to our camp," Riptide general manager Jim Veltman said. "He is known in the lacrosse world as a young goaltender with lots of upside. His junior career demonstrates just that. We are delighted to add him."
In his final year of play in the Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League (OJALL) in 2019, the 6-foot lefthander went 13-7 in the cage for the Brampton Excelsiors and recorded one shutout. In 1206:03 minutes he had a goals against average of 7.36 and a save percentage of .690%. For his OJALL career, Orelman saw action in 67 games with 1,333 saves, a goals against average of 7.60 and a save percentage of .735%.
