Riptide Announce Captains and Roster

CARSON, CALIFORNIA - Wednesday, May 16, 2007 - Defenseman Sean Donnelly (Navy '92), midfielder Matt Ogelsby (Duke '95) and attackman Michael Watson (Virginia '97) will serve as captains for the Los Angeles Riptide during the 2007 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) season, the team announced today.
The captains were selected by their teammates in a vote conducted prior to the Riptide's preseason scrimmage with the Denver Outlaws last weekend.
"I am extremely proud to announce Sean, Matt and Michael as our team captains," said head coach John Tucker. "These guys are terrific competitors and true leaders in every sense of the word. The selection of the three of them by their teammates is not only a tribute to their leadership qualities but also a strong statement about the value our entire team places on character, hard work, and competitive spirit."
The Riptide, who will open their 2007 season on the road at the Chicago Machine on Saturday, May 19, also today announced their season-opening roster. The roster includes 29 players.
The Riptide's home opener is set for Sunday, May 27 versus the New Jersey Pride at the Home Depot Center, with Sunday's home opener set to begin at 7 p.m.
