Rio Grande Valley FC Toros Announce Roster Moves

EDINBURG, Texas (Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020) - The Rio Grande Valley FC announced a number of roster moves as the club continues its preparation for the 2021 USL Championship season.

The Toros signed MF Juan Carlos Azocar on loan from Deportivo La Guaira in Venezuela's Primera Division for the 2021 USL Championship season.

The club declined contract options on 11 players: GK Paul Blanchette, DF Robert Castellanos, DF Carter Manley, DF Emile Legault, MF Jonathan Jimenez, MF Christian Lucatero, MF Timo Mehlich, MF Taiberson Nunes, MF James Murphy, MF Luka Prpa and FW Garrett McLaughlin. The loan for MF DeShane Beckford expired following the 2020 season.

Nine players are out of contract at the end of the 2020 season: GK Ryan Coulter, GK Ben Willis, DF Robert Coronado, DF Diego Rocha, DF Andrew Samuels, MF Victor Garza, MF Isidro Martinez, MF Kevin Rodriguez and FW Juan Carlos Obregon Jr.

The Toros currently have two players under contract and are in ongoing discussions with a number of players to return for the 2021 season.
