Rimouski Defeats Lewiston, 9-2

ewiston, ME - The 2009 Memorial Cup hosts came to Lewiston looking for a 13 game win streak, and they got it. Clement Jodoin's Rimouski Oceanic defeated the Lewiston MAINEiacs 9-2 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Saturday night. The MAINEiacs remain in 17th place in the QMJHL, 1 spot out of the 2009 playoffs.

Max Gratchev scored the only two goals for the MAINEiacs. The win for the Oceanic was truly a team effort with no player scoring more than a goal. Former MAINEiac Sebastien Piche notched 2 assists for the Oceanic, while Keven Veilleux and Jordan Caron each had a goal and 2 assists.

Peter Delmas started in net for the MAINEiacs, but was replaced by Adrien Lemay mid way through the second period. Matthew Dopud earned the win for the Oceanic. The three stars of the game were 1) Jordan Caron (RIM), 2) Keven Veilleux (RIM), and 3) Sebastien Piche (RIM).

The MAINEiacs will play again tomorrow at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee versus the Victoriaville Tigres at 4:00 PM
