Ride With The Icehawks Mascot To Win Season Tickets

PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Icehawks and Blue Water Area Transit are teaming up to give one lucky fan the chance to win season tickets for the 2009-10 season.

Ride the bus with Icehawks mascot Mohawk on any of three upcoming dates and enter to win two season tickets. The winner will be drawn at the tailgate party prior to the Icehawks season opener on Saturday, October 17.

Mohawk will be a Blue Water Area Transit passenger on Monday, August 31, Wednesday, September 16 and Friday, October 2. Be one of the first 50 fans to ride the bus with the mascot and be eligible to enter the drawing. If you are unable to catch a ride with Mohawk, you may also meet him when the bus returns to the loading dock in front of the Zebra Bar at 522 Quay Street.

The times and routes that the mascot will travel are as follows:

Aug. 31, 12:55 p.m. - 1:55 p.m. - Route 3. Stops at 13th Street & Griswold (1:03 p.m.), Super K-Mart (1:15 p.m.) and Water Street and 13th (1:23 p.m.). Returns to Quay Street (1:35 p.m.)

Sept. 16, 10:55 a.m. - 11:55 a.m. - Route 2. Stops at 24th Street & Griswold (11:06 a.m.), 28th Street & North Boulevard (11:15 a.m.) and Military Street and 16th Street (11:17 a.m.). Returns to Quay Street (11:35 a.m.).

Oct. 2, 1:35 p.m. - 2:35 p.m. - Route 5. Stops at Pine Grove Avenue & Hancock (1:40 p.m.), Birchwood Mall (1:55 p.m.) and Pine Grove & Hancock (2:07 p.m.). Returns to Quay Street (2:15 p.m.).

Full fare is just 75 cents which includes free transfers. Students 17 and under are just 60 cents and seniors and those with disabilities ride for only 35 cents.

The Blue Water Area Transit system provides regularly scheduled bus service to the City of Port Huron, Marysville and Fort Gratiot Township, as well as a dial-a-ride service in Fort Gratiot, Burtchville and Port Huron Townships six days a week.
