Rochester Rhinos News Release

(Rochester, NY). The Rochester Rhinos announced today they have signed midfielder Anthony "Tony" Donatelli to the 2011 roster. The Glenside, Pennsylvania native joins the Rhinos after two plus seasons with the Montreal Impact (2008-2010) where he scored seven goals and added four assists in 30 appearances during the 2010 season.

Donatelli began his professional career with the Vancouver Whitecaps (2006-2008) after being drafted in the third round of the 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft by the Houston Dynamo. He played two plus seasons in Vancouver before being traded to the Impact during the 2008 season. In his first year with the Whitecaps, Donatelli scored two goals and two assists in 24 appearances. In the 2006 playoffs, he scored three goals in four games including a goal in Vancouver's 3-0 win over the Rhinos in the USL-1 Championship game.

"Tony is one of the better technicians in our league. His ability to score and set-up goals from any midfield position will make us a more dangerous team, "said Rhinos head coach Bob Lilley. " He brings a championship mentality winning league titles in Vancouver (2006), Montreal (2009) and with the Philadelphia KiXX (2006-MISL)".

In Montreal, Tony scored key playoff goals in the 2009 USL playoffs against the Charleston Battery and Puerto Rico Islanders helping the Impact advance to the championship game against the Vancouver Whitecaps. In the second game of the finals he scored the opening goal on a penalty kick in the Impact 3-1 victory.

The Rhinos continue the preseason with a home game on Saturday, March 19th against the York University Lions (Ontario, Canada). Game time is at 3:00pm at Sahlen's Stadium. Tickets and parking are free. Season tickets for the 2011 Rhinos season are on-sale and can be purchased by calling (585) 454-KICK (5425).
