Rhinos Re-sign Danny Earls

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Rhinos President Matthew Ford announced today that the club has re-signed defender/midfielder Danny Earls to a one -year deal for the 2009 season. The deal is subject to USL and USSF approval.

Earls, a 19 year old Irish-born utility player, joined the Rhinos in May of 2008 making a sensational impact in his rookie season in the USL. The Republic of Ireland youth international partnered with Rhinos player/assistant Steve Guppy on the left side for the Rhinos and together they tormented opposing defenses all season. Earls came to the Rhinos from Aston Villa of the English Premier League, where he played the 2007-2008 season.

"Danny made a significant impact last year and I'm sure I am as excited as the fans to see him return. He had many options before him, and he chose to sign with the Rhinos. This speaks volumes to his commitment to the Rhinos and to the group of players and coaches we have in place." said Rhinos President and General Manager Matthew Ford.

Earls was a youth international for the U13, U16 and U19 Republic of Ireland teams and brought a new dimension to the Rhinos team in 2008.

"It is important that we resign players that fans enjoy watching, and Danny's dribbling, speed and crossing skills will be a major asset to the team in 2009," commented Rhinos Head Coach Darren Tilley. "His performances improved in each game last year, and we believe that with regular 1st team games his play will develop and advance."

The Rhinos start training camp on March 19th at Rochester Rhinos Stadium and begin the 2009 regular season campaign on the road when the face the Carolina Railhawks on Saturday, April 18th.
