ROCHESTER, NY - The Rochester Rhinos and Louisville City FC played to a scoreless draw on Saturday night. The Rhinos are now winless in their last 5 matches and move to 11-7-11 - sitting in 5th place on 44 points with just 3 matches to go. Louisville (16-6-8, 56 points) has all but clinched the #1 seed in the USL Eastern Conference.

The match started extremely slow with chances few and far between as there was just 3 combined shots in the first half. The Rhinos came out dominating possession in the opening stanza, and in the 6th minute, they had a chance to strike first. Wal Fall curled a free kick into the box that found the head of Kenardo Forbes, but his effort was just wide of the target.

Louisville City FC only had one real opportunity; the only shot on goal of the match for either side, which came in the 19th minute. Kyle Smith whipped in a cross from the right side that former-Rhino Sean Totsch latched onto, but his header went right at goalkeeper Tomas Gomez. Gomez earned his 10th clean sheet of the season, good for 2nd in the USL. Gomez is currently leading the race for his 2nd straight Golden Glove award, lowering his goals-against-average to 0.76.

In the 68th minute, the Rhinos had a pair of fleeting chances. Wal Fall put in a threatening free kick that was defended well and led to a Rochester corner. It was taken short, and Fall blasted a shot high and wide.

Ryan James came close 7 minutes later, as he collected the ball just beyond the box and had his shot go inches wide of the post.

Substitute Jordan Dover may have been closest to scoring, having his shot

Rochester improves impressive home record to 7-2-5; just 3 matches left in 2017 USL season.
