ROCHESTER, NY - The Rochester Rhinos took on the Miami FC Blues at Marina Auto Stadium on Lancer Night with a season-best crowd of 9,157 fans. Each team wore throwback jerseys from the Rochester Lancers and Ft. Lauderdale Strikers. This is the second meeting between the two teams. The Rhinos tied Miami in their first meeting of the season.

The Rhinos got the match started off with great possession of the ball. In the 17th minute, Frankie SanFilippo ran the ball up the right side of the field. He passed the ball out to a running Ryan Heins, who crossed the ball in the box. Tyler Rosenlund got his foot on the ball, but shot it wide.

The Rhinos continued to dominate the game in the 32nd minute. Heins took a corner kick and Aaron Pitchkolan headed the ball toward net, but Miami goalkeeper Caleb Patterson-Sewell made the save.

Miami forward Paulo Araujo Jr. struck back at Rochester and gave a quick shot at the net in the 39th minute to test Rhinos goalkeeper Neil Kitson, but Kitson made the save.

Rochester pressed forward when Andrew Hoxie was near the right corner flag and tried to cut in to the center toward goal. Hoxie was denied by the Miami defense, but the ball went straight to Heins. Heins crossed the ball in to the box finding Rosenlund who got a head on it to place the ball right in front of the net. Hoxie got a toe on the moving ball and sent it past Patterson-Sewell to make it 1-0 Rhinos in the 42nd minute.

The Rhinos held the 1-0 at halftime with five shots.

Miami FC Blues came out the second half looking to tie up the game. Chuck Chijindu passed the ball up to Pablo Nunez who was making a run beside him. Nunez took the shot, but it was saved by Kitson. Kitson gave a rebound on his save and Danilo Martins was there to take the second shot on the open net tying the game at one in the 50th minute.

The Rhinos took the lead back just one minute later. Heins took a corner kick finding the feet of Pitchkolan. Pitchkolan tapped the ball forward in the box to Troy Roberts. Roberts then spun around and shot the ball in the net about seven yards from the goal line.

The Miami FC Blues had a hand ball in the box when Hoxie tried to pass the ball to Rosenlund. Hoxie converted on the penalty kick and put the Rhinos up 3-1 in the 73rd minute.

The Rochester Rhinos went on win against the Miami FC Blues 3-1 increasing their winning streak to six games. This brings the Rhinos to 14-5-6 with 48 points while Miami goes to 3-12-11 with 20 points.
