Rhinos Defeat Cornell in Preseason Match

ROCHESTER, NY-The Rochester Rhinos defeated Cornell University 1:0 in Sahlen's Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Striker Colin Rolfe scored the only goal of the match off of an assist from fourth year Rhinos midfielder JC Banks in the first half. The Rhinos kept their clean sheet of the preseason as goalkeepers Luis Soffner and John McCarthy were not called on to make a save.

Rolfe was drafted with the No. 18 overall selection by the Houston Dynamo in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft. He did not debut with the first team, but did make 9 appearances - with two starts - with the Dynamo Reserves in 2012. At the University of Louisville, he was named a finalist for the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy as the nation's top player in 2010. He appeared in 87 career games, starting 79, and finished with 33 goals and 21 assists for a total of 84 points.

On Friday, the Rochester Rhinos played to a 1:1 draw with Ottawa Fury FC of the NASL on Friday afternoon at Sahlen's Stadium. A first half spot kick fromOliver Minatelgave the visiting Fury a one goal advantage. However, Minh Vu was able to take advantage of a breakdown in Ottawa's back four to draw Rochester back to level terms in the waning moments of the second half.

The Rochester Rhinos conclude their preseason schedule next Saturday, March 29thagainst the Montreal Impact Reserves (MLS) at 1PM in Sahlen's Stadium.
