(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Rhinos President Matthew Ford announced today that the club has signed striker Chris Sanders to a one -year deal with a one-year option for 2010. The deal is subject to USL and USSF approval.

"We're excited to bring Chris back to the US and we're thrilled to sign a player many USL clubs were chasing," said Rhinos President and General Manager Matthew Ford. "He comes highly recommended and we're looking forward to Chris making an immediate impact."

Sanders, a 6'3, 190 pound, Auburn, Washington native, has just finished a professional contract with FC Nurnberg of the German Bundesliga. Sanders relinquished his senior season at the University of Portland for the opportunity to play European professional soccer.

Rhinos Head Coach Darren Tilley is relishing the upcoming season as the Rhinos roster comes together. "Chris is a big, strong forward who will cause a lot of problems. He's just what we need," said Tilley.

Additionally, the Rhinos announce the signing of midfielder Ze Roberto, who made a big impact with the Rhinos in 2008 before a knee injury cut his season short."Ze is a true professional who will soon be back to 100%," commented Tilley on the re-signing of the 5'7", Brazil native entering his 10th year in the USL. "He's the type of player you want in your line-up."

Sanders and Roberto bring the Rhinos roster to fifteen players under contract for the 2009 season. The Rhinos open training camp in Rochester on March 19.
