Rio Grande Valley FC Toros News Release
The Toros drew 2-2 against Austin Bold FC on Saturday, Feb. 15 on a road scrimmage match. RGV FC kept a 2-0 lead but the Bold attacked to finish off the evening with a tie. Garrett McLaughlin and a trialist were the goal scorers.
As both teams prepare for the new season ahead, they both showed how dominant and dangerous they can be on the field.
The 2020 USL Championship campaign will kick off on Friday, March 6. The 2020 season will start play with Orance County SC vs El Paso Locomotive FC and Tacoma Defiance vs Reno 1868 FC. This season, both the East and the West will feature new clubs such as San Diego Loyal SC and The Miami FC.
As the Rio Grande Valley FC Toros prepare for the 2020 USL Championship season, they will face off collegiate team Southern Methodist University, on Saturday, Feb. 22 in Houston, Texas. The friendly will be closed to the public.
The Toros will end the preseason schedule with a pre-Texas Derby as they play San Antonio FC on the road. The scrimmage will take place on Friday, Feb. 28 with kick off at 1:00 p.m. CT.
