
RGV FC Heads to Austin for Midweek Clash

EDINBURG, Texas - Rio Grande Valley FC (6-3-2, 20 pts.) visit Bold Stadium as they face Austin Bold FC (4-3-3, 15 pts.) on Wednesday night. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. CST.
The Toros hold a 0-2-0 overall record at Bold Stadium. The last time both squads met, RGV FC fell 1-2 at H-E-B Park.
RGV FC: The Toros earned a big 3-2-win last Wednesday night against El Paso Locomotive FC. The first goal came in the 5th minute via defender Carter Manley, recording the fastest goal scored this season. Rodrigo Lopez has been a key player not only in the last match, but throughout the season, earning him a spot in Team of the Week - Week 11. Lopez scored his first career goal as a Toro on Wednesday night as well. In addition, he created four chances while taking three shots, leading the squad with 20 total created chances - ranked 10th in the USL. Other Toros players who are ranked in the USL are Adrian Diz Pe in 2nd with 50 clearances, James Murphy ranks 5th with a total of three assists and Tyler Deric in 6th with three clean sheets. As a team, RGV FC ranks 8th in the USL with 16 goals scored and 10th with 136 total shots.
ATX: The Bold recently won its first road game in a 1-0 final score at San Antonio FC last Saturday night. Collectively, Austin has recorded 10 goals in 33 shots on target while conceding nine goals. Elliot Panicco has been able to keep five clean sheets while conceding only three goals in eight appearances, making it a must for RGV FC offensively in finishing chances. Hugo Fauroux has conceded six goals in two matches played. Sean Okoli leads Austin with three goals scored and 17 shots while Owayne Omar Gordon has tallied two assists. Xavier Baez has created 13 chances throughout nine matches, which makes him a playmaker in the midfield. He has earned an 81.2 passing accuracy rate with a total of 325 passes which 13 were key.
